My Best Friend

I go to an international school in Venezuela, meaning that most of the people that come to this school are from different places of the world. Sometimes this can be a good thing but at the same time it can be very bad. It is really good because you meet so many different people with different cultures and languages, and that can be pretty interesting. Also you have soo many friends from different places that basically anywhere you visit you will know someone from that place. It is bad because people leave in the middle of the year and new ones come in. This is bad because right at the moment when you get close to a person they start moving. My best friend has had this happened to her for three years. Her best friend has left to live in a new place, and sadly this year it get to happen to me. I meet her last year when I arrived at this school, I had just moved from the US even though I am Venezuelan. She is also Venezuelan, the first week of school we did not talk too much to each other but as the year went by our friendship grew closer. I can admit that last year I fought with her many times, this making my twin have a closer relationship with her. This though, we got the same exact schedule, and the day we found that out we would laugh because we know that we are a mess together and out teachers will hate us, and at the end some were not so fond of us but at the end they know we are good kids. All the memories of this year that I had with her I will treasure for the rest of my life. I know next year will not be the same without her, as a matter a fact it probably will not be nearly as fun but I know that this is the normal thing that happens in this school. Right now I have about one more week until school is over, and I decided that I would have the best time I could until the day comes where she will no longer be in school with me. It will be hard, and I will miss her greatly. 

Growing Up

This year has been a great year and I have enjoyed every second of it. There have been some good moments and some that were not so great but at the end I would do anything to be able to repeat freshman year. People normally say that this was going to be one of the best years of my life, and honestly I think it was. The four years of high school are always the best years of your life, you are not to small but you are not too big. I remember when I was small I always acted like the old kid, and I did not let people call me a baby even when I was six I thought I was the oldest because we always want to be old because we think it is better. But now reality comes in and you realize that being all grown up is not such a good thing after all, you can’t be immature anymore, you have to manage your own money, and you have to take care of yourself. Right now life is handed to you easily but as the years progress you get smacked right in the face by reality, now I wish I could stay at this age forever because I know that someday I am going to be heading off to work, and high school will be all over, and honestly I don’t want school to be over, I do not want to have summer, I don’t want it to end.

Jango

The other day during school I decided that I wanted to listen to music, so I went on groove shark. Sadly my school blocks many sites and even though you can use other sites such as schoolisbeat.com to get into the sites that are blocked groove shark was still not working. Then a good friend of mine told me to try a site that she also uses called Jango, and that day I discovered the most useful site I have ever seen apart from facebook. This website is nothing like groove shark, as a matter a fact it is completely different. Here you choose one song that you like, and then a new “radio” is created.  This radio that is created will keep on playing music that you might like due to the first song you had. Normally it is done by the genre but also by how the song sounds. Right now I only have one radio in Jango and it is very good, since that day I have probably downloaded more song than I do in one year and it has only been about three weeks ago. Every day when get home from school I got to my room open skype, facebook and Jango and I “do my homework” witch winds up finished at about 11:30 every night.  Since I enjoy this so much I decided to write about it in my blog because I think it is a brilliant website and people should use it more often. 

The Good and Bad of Blogging

Although blogging can be really fun at times, it also has different reasons why I do not love blogging. Before I explain why I dislike blogging I also want you to know that it can also be good at times. One thing that I like about it is that you can customize your blog. You can choose how it looks and what apps that  go on it. For example I chose to have a fish pond (koi pond) and I put it at the top of the blog, I also have a pet penguin on it witch is located on the right side. Sometimes when I get really, really like extremely bored I feed my penguin and fish. Also there are soo many things to write about. Even though sometimes it takes me a while to choose there is always something new to write about. There are also bad thing about blogging. First of all it’s my homework to blog, and who here likes homework? I know I don’t. Also it can get annoying to have to post because even though I can relate to what I write about, I am lazy and never really have the energy to sit down and write. Sometimes our teacher decides that she will choose the topic of one of our monthly blogs (this is one of them). This can be a bore at times but at the end it balances out and it is not really that bad.

What To Wear?

There are many schools in the world that have uniforms and there are also many schools that don’t. My school has uniforms and I am very proud of that. The uniform in my school is not strict at all. I can wear whatever shoe I want including sandals and flats if they are not flip-flops. I can do whatever I want to my hair and wear whatever nail polish I desire. For pants I can wear anything that is around the navy blue color, most people including me wear jeans. Jean skirts or shorts if not too short are allowed too. The only actual uniform in my school is a shirt, which is like a beige polo with the school logo on it. I am very happy of having this uniform not just because I have freedom but because I don't have to decide what I'm going to wear every morning. I feel bad for all the people that have to choose their clothes every morning. When my school has a dress down day where we are allowed to wear whatever we want I spend so much time choosing what to wear, but I guess that is most of the girls in the world.

History Essay's

The about two weeks ago my teacher decided that he would make us do a 2,000 word essay for his class. He said that it had to be a contradictory essay about some sort of ancient artifact. He gave us the example of the Elgin Marbles. They are originally from Athens and are in the British Museum, and he wants us to explain what we thought about that. After that example I finally found something I could do it about, Petra, Jordan. The contradictions were if it should be opened to the tourist or not, I did that it should be opened my friend debated that it should be closed. I stated that if it will be closed than it would erode because of the rain and wind, so ether way it would eventually erode no matter what.

Once I made a blog about procrastination, warning people to not procrastinate. Sadly I did not listen to my own advice, as a matter a fact no one did. Thankfully we did not have school the day before and we all focused on finishing it that day. I stated at 11:30 AM and finished at 7:30 PM, and realized that I should listen to my own advice the next time. 

Smart Phones

   BlackBerry's or IPhone's witch one should we choose? I know witch one I would choose. As the years have passed since we were born things have changed, including phones. Most of the people who are reading this have probably had a flip phone. For example the Razor, witch everyone I knew had. Now its come down to these two types BB's, and IPhone's. In the United States the most seen phone right now is the IPhone, but since the Android came out the IPhone has lost many buy's. Here were I live (Venezuela) the most popular of all phones is the Blackberry. Venezuela is probably in the top five of the country with the most Blackberry's. I guess it is because of the BlackBerry messenger, that is used by a lot of people. People here are very social, and what is better than basically free text messaging (nothing). Although the IPhone is app friendly, and many games can be put into it I completely prefer the BlackBerry just because of the BlackBerry Messenger. The day that the IPhone get some sort of messenger system like the BB then I will enjoy the IPhone more than the BB.J
